Long-range CODAR Gears Up

In June of 2000, a new Long-range CODAR antenna was setup on Long Beach Island. This antenna is part of our new network of long-range coastal radars that will encompass the entire coast of New Jersey, the first large-scale system for measuring coastal ocean currents in the world.

As a reminder that you never know how people will perceive your site, theCOOLroom.org was recently featured in a monologue joke by Jay Leno in November, 2000.

 

The COOLroom.org Goes Live! 

On Wednesday, October 25, 2000 theCOOLroom.org went live on the world wide web. Launched at a special dedication of the new Cousteau Education Center, in Tuckerton, NJ, this new web site provides everyone who loves New Jersey's ocean with up-to-date information on the ocean's temperature, currents and waves.

 

Underwater Weather with your Beach Weather

This coming summer, you can turn to your local TV weather station to find the latest ocean water temperatures and beach forecasts at the Jersey shore. NBC10 and the COOLroom.org have partnered for a second year to bring you the latest Ocean Weather forecasts right to your TV. NBC10 will be incorporating this data into their daily weather casts.
