theCOOLroom.org Surpasses 1.5 Million -- August 1, 2001

As the summer begins to wind down, ocean lovers who check out theCOOLroom.org site still use it to keep up to date with the latest water temperatures and underwater weather forecasts. During the months of June and July, the COOLroom web site received on average over 20,000 hits a day. And since the COOLroom's inception last October, it has received over 1.5 million hits.

Our research site, marine.rutgers.edu, receives around 40,000 hits per day. And the average daily number of hits from both our research and our public sites is over 25% greater than to our research site alone last year.

That's a whole lot of COOL ocean data you guys are gobbling up
