The COOLroom.org Goes Live! -- Oct. 25, 2000
On Wednesday, October 25, 2000 theCOOLroom.org went live on the world wide web. Launched at a special dedication of the new Cousteau Education Center, in Tuckerton, NJ, this new web site provides everyone who loves New Jersey's ocean with up-to-date information on the ocean's temperature, currents and waves.

A special feature of the site includes a special "Upwelling Index" which will warn swimmer's of the ocean's potential to upwell cold water even on the warmest of days. The web site, put together by the Rutgers University Coastal Ocean Observation Laboratory, includes information from Coastal Radars, Underwater Instruments, and Satellites in Space. All the information is displayed automatically, allowing the pubic immediate information on the Ocean.
